LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR·MARYLAND

About

I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and the founder of Turpin Psychological Services.

Before I became a therapist, I worked in law enforcement and corrections. That work shaped how I practice. I’ve been in rooms where people were at their worst, and I learned early that the loudest problem is rarely the real one. I don’t startle, I don’t lecture, and I don’t need you to clean things up before you say them.

My training is in clinical mental health counseling and forensic psychology. In session I draw on Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic and depth-oriented therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, and DBT. I match to what you’re actually working on, not applied from a script. Some people want structure and homework. Some need space to think out loud. Most need both at different times.

I see adults and teens across Maryland, entirely by tele-health. No commute, no waiting room, sessions that fit into a real life.

If this sounds like what you’ve been looking for, the next step is a short conversation.

Turpin Psychological Services is a solo tele-health practice serving individuals across Maryland. One clinician, no handoffs, no rotating staff. You work with me.

Areas of Focus

Anxiety and Overwhelm

Racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, the sense that you’re always bracing for something. We work on what’s driving the alarm and build tools you can use in the moment, not just talk about.

Trauma and PTSD

Difficult experiences don’t stay in the past on their own. I work at a pace you set, using approaches that help you process what happened without having to relive it every session.

Depression

When everything takes more effort than it should and you can’t tell if you’re tired or done. We look at what’s underneath it and rebuild momentum in pieces small enough to hold.

Life Transitions and Identity

New role, ended relationship, career shift, or a version of yourself you don’t quite recognize. Change is disorienting even when you chose it.

ADHD

Missed deadlines, half-finished projects, and a running commentary about why you can’t just get it together. We work on systems that fit how your brain actually operates, and on the shame that tends to come with it.

Law Enforcement/Military

I worked in law enforcement and corrections before I became a therapist. You won’t have to explain shift work, command climate, or why you handle things the way you do. I already know.

Services

Individual Therapy for Adults and Teens

This is the one service I offer, and that’s by design. You work with me, start to finish.

Sessions are 45 to 60 minutes over secure video, weekly or every other week depending on what we’re working on. We start with an intake session to map out what’s going on and where you want to go. After the work is built around you, not a script.

I also see teens ages 12 to 17. For minors, the free consultation starts with a parent or guardian, and before the first session we’ll go over how confidentiality and parent involvement work.

Clients need to be physically located in Maryland at the time of each session.
